I am going to visit my sister, who is complaining of a "trojan horse" having infected her computer. It is a Dell laptop, several years old, presumably running XP.

Any suggestions on which tools I should burn onto a CD to take to help her?

    Thanks

Start with SUPERAntiSpyware Portable Edition, and TrendMicro's Sysclean They're both portable, standalone anti-malware scanners that can be run from a USB key.

I'd also suggest grabbing a copy of F-Secure's bootable rescue CD.

Thanks, Jeff, I'll give those a try.

I'd love to, but she is a real estate professional. The MLS has some products that will only run using Internet Exploder. Won't even run in Firefox on Windows.
