Microsoft to buy Skype

    Aw crap. It was handy having a multi-platform chat client that did not lock you into Google accounts. While I have no issue with Google Chat, not everybody is on it, or have an interest as they use their own Hotmail/Yahoo/other account instead.
    I just hope they don't close it down for non-Microsoft operating systems (including Android, iOS, OS X, Linux, etc.) because its cross-platformness was a big benefit of Skype. It meant you didn't have to worry about what operating system was used on either side. :help
